Serving London since 1921
"Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the face."
This was Helen Keller’s own approach to life as she summed up her advice to a five-year-old blind child in 1932. This mission has gone on to form the foundation of the Lion’s Club since Helen challenged us early on, to be the “Knights of the blind and hearing impaired”.
But today’s Lions club is so much more.

Who are Lions today?
Lions are members of the world’s largest service organization that spreads to 190 countries with over 1.4 million members.
Lions are men and woman who have a couple of hours a month to make people’s lives better in London. Some are career minded, some are homemakers, entrepreneurs, retirees, trades people and those in the non-profit and service sectors. Lions are community minded citizens who have a true desire to make a difference in the people’s lives who need our help the most. There is no screening or strict guidelines to become a Lion, you just need to want to have fun and to join an organization that does make a difference.
How Lions make things happen
It takes a commitment by all of us to enable us to do all of the good work that we have done, and continue to do, for almost 90 years. To raise funds to support all of our efforts, we hold a variety of fun community centered events. Our major fundraisers are "Lions Fight for Sight" fish fry and auction, barbeques, selling chocolates at Easter, refurbishing and selling bicycles.
When Lions all work together at these events, it’s amazing what we are able to accomplish and it feels so rewarding to see the good that comes out of it.
